Audrey Zelabe Montgomery

Audrey Zelabe Montgomery, 94, of Blue Springs, Mo., formerly of Salem, Ark., went home to be with Jesus on Oct. 18, 2011, in Blue Springs, Mo., with her family at her side.

Zelabe, or "Aunt Bee" as she was known by many, was born in Byron, Ark., on Nov. 28, 1916, to Jim and Mary Lou Gaither Moore.

She had seven brothers and two sisters. She married William Henry Montgomery of Mitchell, Ark., on Nov. 8, 1931.

Their honeymoon was spent working in the cotton field picking cotton.

Zelabe was a lifelong member of Mitchell Assembly of God Church in Mitchell, Ark. It was there that she spent many hours quilting, raising her family and praising her Savior.

Zelabe was survived by three of her children: her daughter, Ada, and husband, Al Clausen, of Dayton, Nev., son Edward and wife, Vera Montgomery, of Lone Jack, Mo., and son, Don Montgomery of Grain Valley, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren and several treasured nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son; 4-year-old daughter Naomi Ruth; daughter-in-law Peggy Montgomery; brothers, Jessie, John, Robet, Talamage, Ralph, Oakley and Arkie Moore and sisters, Vanita Sears and Opal Dillinger.

Services were held at Mitchell Assembly of God Church in Mitchell, Ark., on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011. Visitation was at the church at 1 p.m. and the funeral services at 2 p.m.

Interment was at Sublet Cemetery, Mitchell, under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
