The club raised about $1,600 to buy school materials.
A host of club members solicited donations from area businesses to buy the chili ingredients and other supplies for the meal, which was served in the science room before the three exhibition games.
Club president Melissa Rogers said 300-400 people attended the event.
"It was a huge success," Rogers said Nov. 21.
The exhibition games included Couch High School varsity and junior varsity boys and girls basketball teams.
The club has other projects ongoing throughout the year. Besides selling Couch Indians shirts, pants and jackets, the club is selling raffle tickets for a quilt made by Patsy Baldridge. The quilt drawing will be held during senior night at the last home game.
The club is now accepting memberships at $10 per individual or $20 per family. All money raised will go toward athletic programs.
