Thayer High School art show draws a crowd

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Thayer High School literature and art students presented a poetry jam and art show at Hardy's Afterwords Café on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Leslie Allen's seventh hour literature class, comprised of juniors and seniors, presented personal pieces in front of the full-house audience. Students presented poems from three subject styles -- free verse, rhyme or "where I'm from."

Visitors were able to enjoy the artwork of Jana Miller's art students, which was displayed along the stage, walls and the covered patio.

After members of the Words and Afterwords staff judged the variety of art, owner Greg Bess presented the winners with gift cards.
