Calico Rock Holiday Tour set for Dec. 10

Friday, December 9, 2011

Saturday, Dec. 10, is the 6th Annual Calico Rock Holiday Home and Lights Tour. This year's tour features two houses and four churches, all decorated for Christmas.

Kari and Bobby Lindsey's modern home has an open floor plan. Built in the early 1900's, Mary Beck's Southern style home is one of the oldest in Calico Rock. Churches include the historic 1922 Church of Christ, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the First Baptist Church and the new Methodist Church. Former mayor Reed Mack Perryman will be the tour guide.

Tours depart from the Visitors Center at 104 Main Street (Highway 5 at the White River Bridge) at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Vans will take visitors to the six locations, then stop at the Artisans Cooperative on Main Street for a reception and refreshments. Tickets are $5.00 per person or $20 for a family and can be purchased that night or in advance at the Artisans Cooperative.

The Artisans Cooperative is decorated for Christmas with trees, lights, garlands, reindeer and a miniature village. The Cooperative is open Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Many booths offer Christmas themed gifts and decorations, and all are excellent choices for Christmas presents.
