The Cedar Ridge T-Wolves remained unbeaten on the season with a 56-35 victory over the Izard County Cougars in the semi-final round of the 65th annual Northeast Arkansas Tournament Dec. 29 at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.
Second-seeded Cedar Ridge opened the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back.
The third-seeded Cougars (17-4) trailed 18-4 after one and 28-18 at the half.
Izard County pulled within nine points in the third, but Cedar Ridge regrouped to take a 43-26 lead after three periods of play.
Trenton Hatman paced Izard County with 10 points.
Preston Harmon added eight points and five assists, while Kyle King scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds for Izard County.
Hatman, Harmon and Kyle King were all named to the All-NEA Tournament team.
Cedar Ridge ran its record to a perfect 19-0 with a 53-39 win over defending Class 1A state champion Bay in the tournament finals Dec. 30.
In the second round Dec. 27, Izard County knocked off sixth-seeded Rector 56-46.
Harmon tossed in 14 points and handed out six assists for Izard County, while Chris King added 13 points and seven rebounds.
Jake Dockins finished with 10 points, with Hatman notching 10 points and five assists.
