Robert O. Tucker, 54, of Thayer sustained serious injuries at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 4 when the 2004 Dodge truck he was driving southbound on Route E four miles south of Alton went off the left side of the roadway, hitting a fence and large tree. Tucker's grandson, Jackson C. Tucker, 3, who was in wearing a safety device, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. It is unknown if Robert Tucker was wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol. He was taken by helicopter to Cox Medical Center in Springfield.
Passengers in two vehicles sustained moderate injuries at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 7 when a 2001 Hyundai Sonata driven by Danny L. Whitmore, 49, of Mountain View pulled into the path of a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Mary E. Strong, 31, of Doniphan on Highway 17 one mile north of Mountain View. Shelly M. Anglin, 45, of Mountain View, a passenger in the Hyundai, and Sherry L. Wilson, 53, of Eunice, who was in the Ford, were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View. Whitmore and Strong were not injured. All were wearing seat belts.
Jeffrey L. Monahan, 28, of Doniphan sustained moderate injuries at 1:10 p.m. Jan. 8 when his 2001 Pontiac hit a 1988 Ford driven by Cody A. Payne, 22, of Doniphan as it backed out of a private drive on County Road 142E-20 three miles east of Doniphan. A passenger in the Ford, Candance N. Scott, 31, of Doniphan was not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. Scott and Payne, who was buckled, were taken to Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Monahan was not injured. It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.
