Thayer takes down Lady Jays, 70-50

Thursday, February 2, 2012

In a two-quarter warm-up game, Koshkonong's JV Lady Jays were able to pick up a bucket at the end for an advantage over the JV Lady Bobcats.

Every loose ball, rebound and shot attempt was heavily contested by the Koshkonong Lady Blue Jays, but the Lady Bobcats, playing on their home court, had too much fire power.

Freshman Lady Bobcat Jordan Alford and stand-out sophomore Elly Burrell, picked off Lady Jay passes and were off to the races for layup baskets.

Senior leader Sam Collins played great defense and ran the Lady Jays' offense.

Breezy Walters had a see-saw battle with Thayer's Laken Martin and Meshila Mullins on the inside, while Emily Eckman tried to contain the outstanding 3-point buckets by Koshkonong's Baily Perry.

She had 20 points and was deadly from just about anywhere around the 3-point arc.

Thayer established an early lead in the game, 21-12, at the end of one and 44-21 as both teams took intermission.

The 57-36 point difference at the end of three, was followed up by a 70-50 final score, in favor of the Lady Bobcats.
