Local children treated to Reading Night

Saturday, February 11, 2012

Students from Cherokee Village Elementary School were able to spend quality time with special family members, while also participating in Valentine's art and reading in the library of the school on Feb. 2.

The activity was part of February's Library Lovers month.

Children were provided with snacks and were able to read stories with their parents during the night out.

Many took time to read more than one book. Members of the Highland High School Beta Club also teamed up to assist the children and their parents with art supplies and refreshments.

Librarian Buela Sharp said this is a great time to encourage reading and promote family time with students.

Numerous children participated in the event.
