Norma Shirley Hendricks, of Salem, daughter of the late Edward A. Kowalski and Bertha Shaffer Kowalski, was born March 27, 1929 in Benton Harber, MI.
She died January 25, 2012 at Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 82 years 9 months and 29 days.
She was employed by Woolworth's as a store clerk for several years. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church in Moody, MO.
Survivors include her children: Lynn Smith and adopted daughter, Nancy Porter of Louisville, KY., Nancy Weymouth of Fruitland Park, FL., Roger D. Hendricks, Sr. and wife, Sharon, of Gepp, Kathleen Hendricks of Gepp and George E. Hendricks of Bradenton, FL.; grandchildren: Dawn Bernal, Kimberly Macy, Tonya Oleckniche, Jason Worley, Emma Burnette, Roger D. Hendricks, Jr., Bob Hendricks, Tamela Burgy, Christopher Hendricks, Amanda Kirk, Bruce Matthew Hendricks, Wesley Corey Hendricks, George E. Hendricks, Jr., John B. Hendricks, Justin Cannon and Erica Giddens. 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; ex daughter-in-law, Deborah Vanguilder, ex son-in-law, Jimmy Cannon and Carlos Bernal.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Junior and Harry; 2 great grandchildren, Chrisjon Hendricks and Kyler Worley, and her father and mother.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Center Grove Baptist Church in Moody, Mo., with Larry Hopkins officiating. Services under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
