The annual K-Kountry 95-St. Jude's radio-thon has always set high expectations and done a fantastic job of reaching their goal.

This years the Goal of $150,000. seemed like a near imposable task. The K-Kountry staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to get all the business and private donations of goods and services, lined up for the day long event.

Starting at 6:00 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 8th radio personalities started the ball rolling with auctions of donated items and requests for a commitment to monthly monetary donations, by becoming a "partner in hope".

Local school children got involved with huge donations, local high school, church and civic organizations answered the donated bank of phones as the day long event continued into the evening.

Restaurants donated services as well as brought food to the station for the broadcast crew and the groups of volunteers working at the station.

Raffle winners were drawn for the whole hog and butchering, and the hand made cedar chest as well as a bidding war for a hunting trip and donations from E-communications which were matched by Wicker Auto.

As the hours and tension mounted, the final bell rang and totals were tallied. This year the generosity and hard work of the local communities and the staff of K-Kountry 95 were able to exceed their goal by raising $161,773 for the St. Jude's Research Hospital.
