Viola rallies by Cougars

Izard County held the lead until Viola used a fourth-inning rally to eventually knock off the Cougars 14-9 in baseball action March 12 in Brockwell.

The Cougars were on top 6-1 before the Longhorns scored six runs in the fourth inning.

Izard County responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, moving back in front 9-7.

But then it was Viola's turn, and the Horns crossed the plate once in the fifth, four times in the sixth and twice in the seventh.

Keith Martin earned the win on the mound for Viola.

Austin Gardner had three hits and three RBIs for the Horns. Blane Sanders added four hits, with two ribbies. Devin Brown also racked up a pair of hits.

Trenton Hatman and Preston Harmon each had two hits for the Cougars, with Hatman driving in three runs.

Harmon had two RBIs.
