On Monday May 14, The Cave City High School Resource Department, in collaboration with Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, hosted a fishing derby for special needs students within the district. The derby took place at Cave Cove. Fishing poles and assistance were provided by Arkansas Game and Fish and community volunteers pitched in to help. A total of 25 students and some 75 community members were present throughout the day. Parents cooked and served hot dogs for the students, each student had their picture made with the fish they caught and every student left the day with a prize. "We were blessed from God to help on a day like this with children like these", said Dakota St. John a community volunteer.
