A long pending case involving the 1998 murders of a Dalton family was resolved May 9 in Randolph County Circuit Court.

A Randolph County jury of 10 women and 2 men convicted Billy Dale Green, 56, of Warm Springs, Arkansas for four counts of capital murder, and one count of kidnapping. Green was charged in the July, 1998 murder of a family of four in Dalton, Arkansas.

Lisa Elliot and her six year old son, Gregory, were found murdered on the morning of July 30, 1998. The body of Lisa Elliot's husband, Carl Allen Elliot, was recovered from the Eleven Point River on August 1, 1998. The remains of eight year old Felicia Elliot were found within a mile of Billy Green's Warm Springs home in September, 2000. The murders were believed to be drug related.

Green was sentenced to four consecutive life terms in the Arkansas Department of Correction for the murders, and a consecutive forty year term for the kidnapping conviction.

The State of Arkansas was represented by Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry H. Boyce and his staff.
