American Legion Post sets Memorial Day ceremony

The Thayer American Legion Post 344, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday, will install American-made grave site flags on both sides of the entrance road in the Thayer Cemetery.

The Legion members will place these flags at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 25.

The American Legion Honor Guard will also present a Memorial Day Program at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the entrance into the Thayer Cemetery.

The Program will be as follows:

Jack Brannan- fire cannon

Ken Bristow (Bag Piper) -- play "Amazing Grace"

Bill Pace (Chaplin) -- give the prayer

Earl Dodge (Commander) -- lead the Pledge of Allegiance

Thayer School Music Department -- National Anthem

Earl D. Rogers (Thayer City Mayor) -- present a Memorial Day proclamation

Earl Dodge (Post Commander) -- present an American Legion Memorial Day proclamation

American Legion Honor Guard will present the colors

American Legion Honor Guard will fire a folly to honor our Veterans

John Ogden --play "Taps" in honor of Veterans

Ken Bristow (Bag Piper) -- close the program
