Coke Youth Baseball Tournament Signs Ups Needed

The 19th Annual Youth Baseball tournament, known as the "COKE TOURNAMENT is scheduled for Friday, June 29, Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1. The long-time tournament has been reorganized to make the event better than ever.

Team and individual trophies will be given to the 1st and 2nd place teams in each category, with the 3rd place teams receiving a team trophy. The trophies are donated by Coca-Cola and they are awesome -- the biggest and best trophies most of us have ever seen!

The tournament will be a 3 game guarantee, with pool play going into bracket play for championship games. USSSA rules will be followed in each division, Pitching rules and pitch count will be left up to the teams, but we strongly suggest you follow some kind of pitch count regimen to protect our youth players. All bats will be eligible in this tournament,

The tournament will be played at the 4 field youth complex and the West Plains High School field all located right across the street from each other at the West Plains Sr. High School on Howell Ave.

The tournament will really be three levels of competition -- teams for 9 and 10-year olds, 11 and 12-years olds and 13 to 15-year olds are welcome to sign up. The sign up deadline is June 8. Entry fees are $200 for 10 and 12 and under teams, and $300 for 15 and under.

According to Len Jones, there has been a good response from teams in the West Plains area, but organizers hope more teams from the Southern Missouri-Northern Arkansas area will join the competition.

For more information please call Roger Wernsing at 417-274-1945 or Len Jones at 417-293-9648. We are striving to make this a Premier Tournament in our area and should provide each team with a great experience that they will want to come back to enjoy each year
