Burn Ban issued

Sharp County Judge Larry Brown announced May 25 that Sharp County would be under a burn ban until further notice. With dry conditions, the liklihood of fires increase. Residents are asked to not burn outdoors until the ban has been lifted.

Friends of Ash Flat Library to meet

Friends of the Ash Flat Public Library will be meeting on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 5:30 p.m. in the new meeting room of the new Ash Flat Public Library.

The business and planning meeting will follow a tour of the new Ash Flat Public Library.

Everyone is urged to attend.

Miss Summer

Sunshine Pageant

A and K Salon and Boutique on the Salem square is sponsoring the First Annual Miss Summer Sunshine Pageant on June 9.

The pageant will be held at 7 p.m. at the Fulton County Fairgrounds.

The pageant is open to infants through 18-year olds. The entry fee is $15 with optional categories available for an additional $10 each.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Share our Strength: No Hungry Kid.
