National Kids Park Day

Children enjoyed National Kids to Park Day May 12 at Loberg Park in Hardy. The event allowed families to enjoy outdoor fun and were awarded prizes.

The event was sponsored by mayors from Hardy and Cherokee Village and Pam Rowland, Chairwoman of the Cherokee Village Health solutions and hot dogs were provided by Hardy Mayor Nina Thornton. Cherokee Village Mayor Lloyd Hefley donated to assist with funds. Cherokee Village Alderman Jerry Adams provided fruit for the children

Families were treated to a picnic and two pools, two bikes and slip and slides were given as prizes.

Volunteers Rachel Barnes and Jeremy Rowland helped with numerous activities. Ty Rowland and his friend Brody also ran a lemonade stand for those attending the event.

Winners included: Grace Wright, Woodstock, Xander Edwards, George Dawley, Lexi Laxton, Alex Wright, Caiden Carter and Karen Spell.

Rowland said she was thankful the mayor's cooperation and support with the event.
