Melbourne School rated top performer

Thursday, May 31, 2012

At a recent conference sponsored by the University of Arkansas Office of Education Policy, Melbourne School District Superintendent Gerald Cooper was informed that Mount Pleasant Elementary would receive two OEP awards.

After analyzing 2011 Arkansas Benchmark data for math and literacy, the Office of Education Policy found Mount Pleasant Elementary to be the top school in the state for Grade 3 Combined Math and Literacy exam performance, and Grade 4 Combined Math and Literacy performance. Both grades were 100 percent advanced or proficient in both math and literacy for 2011.

Superintendent Cooper and Principal Carolyn Blevins wish to congratulate teacher, students and parents of Mount Pleasant Elementary School for this outstanding achievement.
