Sharp County

Republican Party to hold convention

The Republican Party of Sharp County will hold a Biennial County Convention on Monday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at the Sharp County Courthouse.

The purpose of the convention will be to elect a committee man and woman to the Republican Party of Arkansas State Committee.

The current committee members are Richard Sackett and Joann Gibson.

After the convention is closed, a regular business meeting will be held.

George D. Hay to

present new

bluegrass group

The George D. Hay Foundation is pleased to present a band of experienced bluegrass musicians. This newly formed band is the "Backwoodspickers." They will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the George D. Hay Foundation Music Theater, approximately one mile South of Mammoth Spring just off Hwy. 63 at 77 Music Lane.

Admission is $5 and concessions are available.

This is an all acoustical group of experienced musicians performing on the bass fiddle, guitar, mandolin, dobro and banjo. Come out and support live bluegrass pickin' and singin.'
