Van Aalsburg's celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Van Aalsburg of Cherokee Village recently attended their surprise Golden anniversary celebration on Sunday, June 10, at the home of their son, Bruce, and wife, VaNessa, Van Aalsburg of Hardy. Barbara is the daughter of the late Amos and Gunhild Krsiaen of Aurora, Colo., and Marvin is the son of the late Martin and Elizabeth Van Aalsburg of Pheonix, Ariz.

They were married June 16, 1962 and originally made their home in the Pheonix area. They later moved to the Denver, Colo., area where they had three sons together.

In 1984 they moved to Drasco, Ark., where they farmed for the next 16 years, until September 2000, when they moved to Cherokee Village and retired.

Also attending the celebration was their son, Brent, and wife, Sheila, Van Aalsburg of Mountain View, Mo., along with their daughter Caitlyn Southworth and granddaughter Mady.

Others in attendance were grandsons, Daniel and wife, Melinda Van Aalsburg of Rector, Ark., Jacob Van Aalsburg and girlfriend Brittany Cheek of Jonesboro, Ark., and Nathan Van Aalsburg of Hardy and their granddaughter Samantha Van Aalsburg and fiance, Casey McBride, of Jefferson City, Mo.

Not in attendance was their son, Mark Van Aalsburg, of Harrison, Ark., and granddaughter Elizabeth Van Aalsburg of Jefferson City, Mo.
