The Volunteers to take the stage at George D. Hay

The George D. Hay Foundation is pleased to present "The Volunteers" with special guests Ed and DJ.

This exciting country music concert will start at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the George D. Hay Music Theater located at 77 Music Lane, one-mile South of Mammoth Spring, Ark., just off Highway 63.

"The Volunteers" do classic Country music mixed with gospel. The group members are Bob Ross, Ruby Johnson, Joe Johnson, Roy Fuller and Gale Foster.

They have been entertaining regional audiences for years.

Also adding their Country spark will be guests Ed Barnett and Darrell Johnson.

Come on down and enjoy the Country. Admission is $5 and concessions will be available.

Fundraiser set for

Franklin VFD

The Franklin Fire Department will host a poker run on Saturday, July 21. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Franklin Fire Station. All bikes will leave at 10:30 a.m. $20 for the first hand and $5 for each additional hand.

1st hand - Franklin Fire Station. 2nd hand - Salem City Park. 3rd hand - Mammoth Spring State Park. 4th hand - Citgo parking lot in Ash Flat. 5th hand - back at the Franklin Fire Station.

There will also be a 50/50 draw, and a BBQ dinner after the run.

All proceeds will be going to help pay off the Genesis Rescue Equipment we purchased last year. If you have any questions please call Gina at 870-291-0506.
