We will be offering free school supplies, kindergarten mats, clothes, books, haircuts and more. We are partnering with area businesses to make this event possible. Numerous local beauticians, including Tasha Ward, Nikki Cash, Mary Crawford, Edith Barton, Courtney Mayer and Alisa Brewer, have volunteered to come and give students free haircuts.
We have asked Sgt. Marty Elmore of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to come out and give information on back to school safety.
Winberry Dental Clinic in Salem is donating toothbrushes and toothpaste, and will have handouts on the proper way to brush your teeth.
Several individuals and some businesses, including Ragan's Fashions in Mammoth Spring, have donated clothing -- including winter clothes and coats, backpacks, satchels and lunch boxes. The JJJ Kids Club will be here with free snow cones, and we have activities planned for the kids, including making their own book marks to take to school with them.
We are still accepting any new or gently used school clothing in all sizes, and any new packages of socks and underwear. If anyone would like to donate something to the event, or if you would like to help at the event, please contact Donell Russell at 870-371-0473 or Laurie Roberts at 870-371-1984. Your donation, in any form, will be greatly appreciated. This is an awesome way to give back to the community that we live and work in.
