While the breakfast was free, donations were accepted to benefit the Thayer American Legion to assist veterans with medical needs.
More than $87 was raised, according to Bradwell.
Jeff Pogue, candidate for State Representative, attended the breakfast and encouraged veterans and supporters to make their voices known during the Aug. 7 primary, a sentiment also voiced by Bradwell.
"Too many people in Oregon County think that the County Commissioners are just road commissioners. I want to energize the county and concentrate on jobs. The veterans of the American Legion are an example of the best our country has to offer, and I am inspired by them, by their sacrifices to keep us free. I've always said that I'm like a battery and the voters are like jumper cables, and together we can jump start Oregon County and improve things for our children."
