Salem Mighty Mites Camp Aug. 3

Salem Mighty Mite football camp and registration will be held on Friday, Aug. 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Salem Greyhound Stadium at the Salem Schools. This registration is for youth entering 2nd through 6th grades. Players need to wear shorts, shirts and cleats for the camp. There is no cost for camp, but registration fees for the season are $50 per player. For information, contact Matt or Jamie at 870-895-4457.

VFW to host State Rep candidates Aug. 6

The two candidates for the District 61 State Representative seat have been invited to the Aug. 6 meeting of the Fulton County VFW. The new District 61 seat will represent citizens in Fulton, Izard, Sharp and Randolph Counties.

Republican Rep. Lori Benedict of Sturkie and her Democratic challenger, Scott Baltz of Pocahontas, are to appear at the 7:00 p.m. meeting at the VFW hall on Highway 395 at VFW Road.

The meeting is open to the public. Anyone who would like to meet and hear from the candidates is invited to attend.

Enterprise Baptist VBS set for next week

Enterprise Baptist Church, in the Pickren Hall community of Viola, will hold Vacation Bible School, "Amazing Wonders," on July 30 through Aug. 3 at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Classes will include children from nursery age through youth. Everyone is welcome. For questions, call 458-2905.
