There are plenty of beauties in this county and some handsome little young men, so don't forget about the pageant deadline of Aug. 6 to avoid a penalty fee. Pageant forms are available on our website, izardcofair.org. for ages 0 through 21 years old.
Izard County has some incredible local talent and we want all of them from, age 10 to 20, to come and perform at the Talent Show on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. The winner in each category will represent Izard County in the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Contest in October.
These are the categories available: vocal solo, vocal group, instrumental solo, dance solo, dance group, and variety. We also encourage talent contestants age 5 to 9 to perform, however they will not be eligible to enter the district or state competitions.
They will be judged in a separate category and they will not compete against the older contestants. The deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 7, with forms available online at izardcofair.org.
Our own local bands will be playing live on the Midway Friday night at 8:00 p.m. opening with Deadwood Groove, Gary Rounds, and Garrett Duncan. Finally, David Lynn Jones and Friends will hit the stage with some awesome sound.
There will be an open show again this year and you MUST have all livestock weighed-in on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. The Open Livestock Show will begin at 8:30 a.m. and includes sheep, swine, goats, and cattle.
Get your boots on and come on out to the best bull riding on Thursday night Hall Rodeo Co. Grab some good eats from the concession stand and take your seat for many laughs with funny man, Pork Chop, and lots of nonstop bull action.
Finally, get ready for an all-around great rodeo by Hall Rodeo on Saturday night!
