Now is the time to clean out closets, wash the outgrown clothes and drag out the old furniture for the sale, to be held Sept. 7 and 8.
Most of us can use the extra money. Finding what we need at bargain prices will help too. Of course, these sales are getting to be popular all over the country, so a lot of tourists will be coming to enjoy the beautiful drive and to shop.
This year's route begins in Calico Rock, where you will take Highway 5 to the communities of Old Joe, Norfork and Salesville.
Leaving Salesville, take Highway 177 until you reach Pineville. From there, you'll take Highway 223 out of Pineville to Highway 56, which will bring you back to Calico Rock.
Just off Highway 56 you will find sellers in Earl King Park and along the highway, where several churches are expected to participate. Individuals are welcome to set up on their own property; however, sellers closest to the highway routes are likely to get the most attention.
Sellers are welcome to set up in Earl King Park on a first come, first served basis. Call Gloria Gushue at the Calico Rock Area Chamber of Commerce for more information, at 870 297-4129. Or, you can check out the Chamber's website, online at www.calicorock.us. Take advantage of this great opportunity to "drive a little, enjoy the scenery, and save a lot!"
