Salvation Army benefit set for Aug. 11

"The Salvation Army is always there for people in need, and now the Salvation Army needs help from the citizens of Oregon and Fulton Counties to raise funds to continue helping. To meet that goal Go Green Ozarks is sponsoring a benefit concert to raise funds for the Salvation Army August 11, 7 p.m. at the Thayer Fun and Friends Senior Center," according to Go Green president Mike Slack of rural Thayer.

Izard County singing set for 2 p.m. on Aug. 12

The Izard County monthly singing will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, in the Auditorium at the Brockwell Gospel Music School.

Everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy an afternoon-singing with us. We sing your favorite old hymns and new ones, too.

Thanks to the Jeff Cooper family for donating new "Heavenly Highway Hymn" song books. Plenty of books for everyone to sing their favorites.

'Miss Ellie' to speak at

Old Soldiers Reunion

On Saturday, Aug. 11, Mammoth Spring State Park will proudly present "Miss Ellie," a refugee of the Civil War. She will share the horrors of war which include the sad dislocation of 100,000s of men, women and children who lost all they had.
