Bull Shoals bowler wins tournament at Horseshoe Lanes

Congratulations to Roy Milam of Bull Shoals, Ark., for winning the "Throw Out the Trash Tournament" at Horseshoe Lanes Sunday, Aug. 5, winning $500 and earning "Champion" status.

34 bowlers ignored the summer heat and competed for a total prize fund of $1,588 at Horseshoe Lanes. The main sponsors of the event were Cedar Glades Resort and the Horseshoe Bend Bowling Club, donating $500 to the prize fund.

Bowlers rolled four games of ten-pin bowling and were able to throw out the lowest score of the day for a three game total plus handicap.

The top seven cashers and their scores were as follows: First Place, Roy Milam of Bull Shoals, with a 669, won $500; Doug Reeves of Horseshoe Bend, with a close 664, won $400 ; Tim Guenther of Horseshoe Bend finished third at 661, winning $300; Kathy Coursolle of Cherokee Village was fourth at 651, winning $200; Josh Wyble of Bull Shoals took 5th place for $100; Rachel Guenther of Horseshoe Bend placed 6th with 637 for $50; and local bowler Matt James placed 7th with 620 for $38.

Other scores include: Preston Meyer-614; Jim Martens and Aaron Waggoner-607; and Markie Jackson-606.

The next tournament, a five game sweeper, is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m.
