The No. 10 University of Arkansas football team held a team scrimmage on Saturday morning, Aug. 6, followed by an evening practice at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Head coach John L. Smith spoke with the media after the scrimmage. Coach Smith talked about the positives from the morning session.

"It was a good scrimmage," Coach Smith said. "There were a lot of positive things on both sides. In particular, I liked the attitude that the defense approached (the scrimmage) with. They played with spirit and enthusiasm. There was a lot of grinding going on, on both sides of the ball. Overall, I was quite pleased from a defensive standpoint."

Coach Smith also talked about the offensive running game.

"The offense ran the ball well, when we concentrated on it down here (by the goal line)," Coach Smith said. "We are going to be good offensively."

The Razorbacks continued camp with two practices on Aug. 13 at the intramural fields. All practices held outside through Aug. 18 will be open to the public, but practices moved inside Walker Pavilion will be closed due to space limitations. The team is scheduled to practice at the intramural fields through Aug. 16.

Arkansas opens its 2012 season Sept. 1 at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville against Jacksonville State. The game begins at 6 p.m., and will be shown on a pay-per-view basis with details to be announced.

Tickets for four Fayetteville games are still on sale. Tickets for the non-conference games against Jacksonville State, Rutgers and Tulsa are $45, while tickets for the conference match up against Kentucky are $55. Single-game tickets may be purchased online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com, in person at the Razorback Ticket Center or by phone at 800-982-HOGS. Fans ordering tickets online have the option to print the tickets from home utilizing UA's new eTicket system.

Little Rock season ticket packages, featuring games against ULM on Sept. 8 and Ole Miss on Oct. 27, are still available for $120. The Razorbacks and Rebels are set to square off inside War Memorial Stadium for the 16th time in series history, the location of the first meeting in 1913. Tickets purchased for Little Rock contests are not available with a print-at-home option.
