The Sharp County Fair was very successful, in spite of the heat. The livestock entries were up this year. The educational building entries were up too. with lots of new exhibitors, and the newly air conditioned building was enjoyed by all.

The highlight of the Fair was the Ash Flat Livestock Auction, where Batesville Stockyards furnished hamburgers, potato chips and drinks to the junior exhibitors and their families on Saturday, after the awards ceremony.

Thanks go to Mike, Melanie, Billy Bob, and the rest of the Nix family for such a wonderful lunch.

We were blessed to have the Dennis Horton and Billy Joe French bands entertained us on Friday and Saturday night. We had a record attendance on Friday night.

The beauty pageants were well attended, and the new concession court was enjoyed by all, featuring four new food vendors.

The Bill Nix Best of the Best award was won by Lane Bray and his junior helper, Britney Kunkel.

The 244 children who entered the art contest may pick up their art and awards at Ozark Title Company at 17 West Main in Ash Flat.

There was a boys backpack left at the fairgrounds one day, and it is also at Ozark Title Company.

The bag is light blue and navy, and has boys clothing in it.

The Fair Board would like to thank all of the exhibitors, volunteers, and those who braved the hot weather to come to the Fair. You are the back bone of the Fair, and we appreciate you!
