The University of Missouri Extension Youth Development faculty is working to establish a Shooting Sports Program in Howell, Oregon, and Ozark Counties.

4-H Shooting Sports teaches life skills, safety, sportsmanship, and ethics through hands-on shooting experiences. Area youth are very excited about the program, but we still need adult leaders to make it possible.

Volunteers can be certified as instructors in Archery, Muzzle loader, Pistol, Shotgun, or Rifle.

Those interested must attend the Shooting Sports Leader Certification Workshop, September 28-30 at Blue Mountain Camp near Ironton, Mo. The cost is $60 and includes meals, lodging, and workshop materials. Transportation will be provided from the Howell County Extension Office. Registration is required by September 15th. Registration is first-come, first-serve, so sign up as soon as possible to ensure a spot and discipline of choice.

Please call the University of Missouri Extension Office in Howell County at (417) 256-2391 if you would like to attend.
