"Each of the students who graduated made personal sacrifices of time and money to pursue their dream," said OzSBI Coordinator Heather Fisher. "The OzSBI team is proud to have helped them along in their journey toward successful entrepreneurship. We will continue to work with our graduates to guide them along their business path." OzSBI can assist the graduates with its loans, mentoring, and business workshops.
Operation Jump Start is an intensive microenterprise development program sponsored by OzSBI and co-sponsored by MSU-WP Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC). Myles Smith, Manager of Member Services for Howell-Oregon Electric Co-op, was the key note speaker and encouraged the graduates to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. The students were also recognized by Josh Cotter, Chairman Elect of the Greater Area West Plains Chamber of Commerce Board. He presented each student with a one year Chamber of Commerce membership and encouraged them to become involved in the Chamber and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
Toney Aid, Director of OzSBI, also presented the students with a free one year OzSBI membership. This enables them to receive a 40% discount on all workshops and room rentals. Mr. Aid encouraged the students to utilize the business support services of OzSBI and take advantage of the business workshops offered. He said," We want you to think of OzSBI as your home. We are here to help your business grow."
With another class starting this month in Mountain View, OzSBI has now helped dozens of area residents with learning the necessary tools to become a successful small business owner.
