Spring River NARFE to meet Aug. 28

The Spring River Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Members meet at Mel's Diner and Deli Mart in Cherokee Village, at 11:00 a.m. All retirees, spouses and current employees are welcome to attend. Gene Moore from Sharp County Office of Emergency Services will present the program. For additional information, contact John Guest at 870-257-3644.

Bear Creek Road closed at Piney Creek Bridge

The Sharp County Road Department has announced that Bear Creek Road at Piney Creek Bridge will be closed for bridge repair until further notice.

Rock This House set to go Aug. 24 and 25

The Rock This House Women's Conference, featuring national author Esther Burroughs, will kick off on Friday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ash Flat Church of Christ. The event will continue on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m.

Old Timers Rodeo set for Aug. 25

The Annual Old Timer's Rodeo and Cowboy Feast will be held at Dolph Arena on Saturday, Aug. 25. The Feast begins at 6 p.m., followed by the Rodeo at 7 p.m. and live music at 10 p.m. For more information, call 870-297-8536.
