Quilter's entry selected for traveling exhibit

Barbara Tennison, a member of Hill 'N Hollow Quilters Guild, received notification that her entry in the 2012 Hoffman Challenge has been selected for one of their traveling exhibits. Her wall hanging will travel to quilt and fiber shows, seminars, quilt shops and quilt guilds throughout the United States and Canada beginning in September, 2012 through October, 2013, just as she will be receiving her winning 2011 entry which is ending its travels.

"Dad's February Fantasy -- Spring", was entered in the mixed technique category. It features a machine embroidered center medallion surrounded by appliquéd hexagon flowers. The required challenge fabric was from the Garden Romance collection by Hoffman Fabrics which features lavender and pink roses.

This is the 24th anniversary year of the Hoffman Challenge which began with 94 enthusiastic quilters. Entries from all over the world have grown to more than 700 entr in some years. The quilt categories include pieced, appliqué and mixed technique. Wearable art, accessories and dolls round out the categories.
