On July 1, 2012, the Fulton County Senior Centers began operation as the WRAAA Senior Life Program in Salem, Mammoth Spring and Viola. Janice Crider has been selected as Program Director and is excited to serve seniors in this role.

Senior Centers provide a central gathering place for persons age 60 and older. Most centers are open five days a week and serve a hot noon meal. Menus are developed each quarter with a dietician, to provide 1/3 of daily nutritional requirements.

Meals can be delivered to homes of persons 60 and older who are homebound and unable to prepare a meal. When a meal is delivered, this means someone is having contact with that elderly, frail person, who might not have family in the area to check on them.

Some local transportation can also be provided to the centers and to scheduled doctor appointments.

Socialization is a vital part of the senior center purpose. Speakers will be invited to provide information on various topics.

All seniors in the area are encouraged to come and be a part of the WRAAA Senior Life Program, and talk with employees about activities that you would like to see incorporated into the schedule.

We invite seniors to come, get involved and help us grow and enrich this wonderful program for seniors!
