After thunderstorms postponed, and eventually cancled Melbourne's second game as a varsity team, the Bearkatz had to wait another day to face off with the Cave City Cavemen.
The Cavemen were looking to improve to 1-0-1 on the season but were unable to stop the upstart Bearkatz and eventually lost 28-14.
The Katz move to 2-0 in their first season of Friday night football after knocking off Palestine-Wheatley in the first game of the season.
Cave City's next game is September 14, when the Cavemen host Hoxie. Melbourne will face off with the team Cave City tied in week one next week when they travel to Southside (Batesville).
