Thayer cheerleader to preform at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Ashton Leigh Rees. a Chickasaw senior at Thayer(Mo) High School will be performing at the 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Nov.22 in New your City. Miss Rees received the invitation after making All- American Cheerleader during NCA Cheer Camp, this past July, in Jonesboro Ark. Performers must be All Americans,a junior or senior in high school, and a captain or co-captain of their squad in order to qualify for the trip.

Miss Rees and approximately 650 other cheerleaders, representation every state, will join celebrities,floats,giant balloons and elite marching bands in this American tradition that began in 1924. Over 2 million spectators on the street and an estimated 65 million will be watching on TV.

The trip and the performance is a once in a life time opportunity and Miss Rees is thrilled and honored to have qualified for this program.

Miss Rees Grandmother, Betty Howard,is the Gr. Gr. Granddaughter of Cyrus Harris, the 1st elected governor of the Chickasaw nation.

Miss Rees is currently raising funds to attend this event and will happily accept any donations.
