The Izard County Cougars overcame an eight-point third quarter deficit and rallied to defeat the previously undefeated Concord Pirates, 70-66, at Brockwell on Nov. 26. The Cougars (7-4) placed four players in double figures. They were led by Trenton Hatman with 23 points, and Chris Mosley with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Cam Massey added 15 points and five rebounds, and Chris King had 10 points. Josh Hargett finished the scoring for the Cougars with three points. Jacob Roark led the Pirates (10-1) with 22 points, and Ryan Cornelison added 20 points.
The Lady Cougars fought off the Concord Lady Pirates to win, 57-53. Hannah Doty led the Lady Cougars (5-5) with 24 points and eight rebounds, and MaKayla Gross added 18 points. Lauren Jones contributed nine points and nine rebounds, Alex King three points, and Paxton Washington three points.
The Junior Lady Cougars made it a sweep for the home teams with a 50-37 victory behind 27 points from Ashton Ford. Jen and Sam King added seven points each for the Junior Lady Cougars (8-3), and Natalie Everett and Abby Brashear contributed five and four points, respectively.
