Shoppers invited to Calico Rock for Christmas shopping

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

"The Calico Rock Artisans Cooperative has been transformed into Santa's Workshop," said Visitor's Center Director Gloria Gushue. "Our local elves are helping Santa make this year the Merriest Christmas ever."

Gushue is encouraging shoppers to support the local economy with unique gifts and decorations created by local artists and craftspeople. On the first floor of the Calico Rock Museum, thirty booths and shelves offer Christmas presents such as dolls, jewelry, oil and watercolor paintings, photographs, pottery, books, soaps and lotions, candles, leatherwork, crystals, wooden utensils and more. Some feature Christmas wreaths, Santas, decorative items and ornaments made from glass and other materials. All pottery is discounted 10%. Four foot long cedar chests are now only $250.

Co-op and Museum hours are Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
