Salem native contributes to book on Best-Seller list

A former Salem High School athlete with many friends in the area is using his business experience to help others through a new book which is doing well on Amazon's best seller list.

Nate Miller, a 1988 Salem graduate, is an author, professional speaker, entrepreneur and healthcare executive. He worked with Brian Tracy, an author and business development expert, contributing to "The Secret to Winning Big: The World's Leading Experts Reveal Their Strategies for Winning Big In Life and Business." The book was released by Celebrity Press, on Nov. 29.

The book features the secrets of experts who share their tips to help others become successful in business and life. Miller contributed a chapter titled "Leveraging Your Passion and Success to Achieve Massive Success."

Miller is the son of Charles and Jo Ann Miller of Salem. He and his wife, Joy, and have five children; Aaron, Drew, Garrett, Chase and Sadie, and live in Jonesboro. Miller will be back in Salem on Saturday, Dec. 15 for a book signing at Whatever on the square. He will be available to greet his friends, sign books and answer questions about the book.

On the day of its release, "The Secret to Winning Big" reached best-seller status in five Amazon.com categories -- Direct Marketing, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Sales, Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Miller had a successful collegiate football career at the University of Central Arkansas, earning All-Conference, All-District and All-American accolades.

There, he learned the value of hard work, discipline and focus, as well as the ethic of continual improvement. He carried these principles into his professional career where he became one of the youngest hospital Chief Executive Officers for the HealthSouth Corporation. Miller then became the Chief Executive officer at the Surgical Hospital of Jonesboro. During his time there, the Surgical Hospital of Jonesboro received the Joint Replacement Excellence Award and Spine Surgery Excellence Award from Healthgrades. It was one of only 13 hospitals in the country to achieve both awards. The Delta Group also placed the Surgical Hospital of Jonesboro in the top two percent of all acute care hospitals in the United States.

Miller has spoken at many national events, enjoys sharing insights into personal and professional development and assisting people in putting his insights into practice to multiply success.
