According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, his office was notified about 10 p.m. on Jan. 10 of a shooting on Luca Road, fives miles north of Calico Rock.
Deputies found that Josh Loosey, 30, had been shot in a wooded area on property owned by the Loosey family. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Harvey Loosey, 49, of Calico Rock and Patricia Sutterfield, 43, were taken into custody that night. Lawrence said Harvey Loosey is the uncle of the victim in the shooting, and Sutterfield is believed to be his girlfriend.
Loosey and Sutterfield were jailed on an investigative hold, and Loosey was charged with First Degree Murder the following day. He remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $500,000 bond, the amount set by District Judge David E. Miller.
Patricia Sufferfield was not charged in connection with the shooting.
According to the sheriff, an apparent long running family dispute led to the death.
