The Salem Greyhounds football team had many honors bestowed upon them this season. Two more were recently announced.
First year head coach Cody Curtis, and senior linebacker Hunter Medling have been named to this year's AHSCA All-Star game, to be held on June 21 in Conway, Ark.
Curtis said he was more excited for Medling than himself.
"It's a big honor for both of us. I'm really proud that he can represent our school by playing in this, and I'm really excited for him," Curtis said.
Medling is the first player in Salem football history to be named to the prestigious game.
Curtis was selected by his peers to be an assistant coach in the game because he led the Hounds to a conference championship in the 2012 season.
Highland's head coach Spenser Hill was also named to the coaching staff for the game.
