Grindol chosen as Rock Hound of the Year
Paul Grindol of Cherokee Village has been named Rockhound of the Year by the Spring River Gem and Mineral Club. Grindol was honored with the award for his exemplary service to the club, which has resulted in new members and financial stability. Grindol served as President of the club from 2009 to 2011, serving an additional term when a newly elected president was unable to serve, and doing the jobs of the vice-president and treasurer when needed. Grindol has worked hard to put together exciting meetings and field trips, and goes above and beyond to get good speakers by inviting those who have to travel to the area to stay at this house. Grindol has also worked to inform people about the club and bring in new members. The Rockhound of the Year has also held silent auctions on occasions people have given him their rock collections, helping make the club financially secure. Grindol continues to serve the club as a member of the Executive Board.
