Calico Museum to host Heritage Day

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

The Calico Rock Museum will host its first Heritage Day on Saturday, Nov. 9. The event will feature three educational programs and demonstrations for families and individuals to enjoy. The programs will be conducted at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The programs and presenters are: Dutch Oven Bread Making (Coetia Barteseh) and Butter Making (Anna Hall) on Railroad Street plaza; Early Schools (Judy Eldridge) and Making Marbles (Connie Martin) in the museum. Tours of the museum will also be conducted by Susan Pritchett at 12 p.m. and p.m.

All of these programs will be hands-on. Participants will actually make the bread, butter, marbles, and learn about our early schools. All of the materials and programs are being provided at no charge.

"These will be great programs for families to enjoy together that are completely FREE," stressed Judy Eldridge.

While the programs will be presented twice, space will be limited.

For more information on the Heritage Day event, call the museum at 870-297-6100 or visit the website www.calicorockmuseum.com.
