Former ICC golfer competes in tournament

Former Izard County High School Golfer Preston Harmon, a current member of the Central Baptist College Mustangs Golf Team, recently participated in the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament held in Panama City, Fla. at the Hombre Golf Club.

Eighteen teams began the tournament on a Monday,the field was reduced to twelve teams after thirty-six holes on Tuesday afternoon and the top twelve teams played a final 18 holes of golf on Wednesday.

The Mustangs finished tenth in the team standings. Harmon shot rounds of 79-76-79 to finish with a three day total of 234. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Jared Davis of Malvern H.S. with a score of 219, followed by Tyler Pinney of Conway H.S. (231), Harmon (234), Cole Wallace of Central Arkansas Christian H.S. (236), and Austin Harmon of Bryant H.S (245).

The Mustangs will be off for the remainder of the first semester and will pick back up in the spring as they try to qualify for the NAIA National Tournament to be held at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
