Saddle Club thanks their supporters
The 2016 year for the Thayer-Mammoth Spring Saddle Club has finally been wrapped up. The 2016 year has been a very fun filled season. Many memories have been made and many obstacles have been conquered.
The Club would like to say thank you once again to everyone who had an event at the arena this year. Also, a big thank you goes out to the Mayor Kenny Cotham, city workers, and any one else for helping in any way possible. Last but not least thank you to all who came and supported. This year would not have been possible if not for all the help, support, and all the positive compliments that were given to us. Everything was greatly appreciated!
Now for some very exciting news!! The 2017 season is already shaping up to be one for the books. On Dec. 15, the club voted in new officers for the 2017 season: President Jason Oakes, Vice President Corey Godwin, Secretary Anissa Fuson, and Treasurer Christine Collins. The elected officers will take over in January. Already the Club has scheduled nine rodeos with Ozark Family Rodeo. The first rodeo will be in April and the last one will be held in September.
The club will start discussing other events in January that will be held during the season. Some events that are for sure to be held are fun shows, team ropings, and rodeos. Sometime, probably in early spring, a coggins clinic will be held by Roger Shaw from Thomasville. The coggins clinic will be at a discount on arena grounds. The date will be set at a later date. Anyone can bring their horse and is welcome to the clinic. There will be more added to the list as it gets closer to the beginning of the season.
The Saddle Club is very excited to get the season kicked off. Be watching the newspaper very closely, because there will be many articles for the club! 2017 is going to be a fun filled season! Everyone get ready because this is only the beginning. Have a Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
