GFWC Crescite Club

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

The GFWC Crescite Club of Thayer met on March 2, in the home of Donna Fink. Members donated $175 to the Oregon County Backpack Program and brought a total of 506 individual packets of instant hot chocolate mix for the Oregon County Food Pantry.

Plans were finalized to hold a bake sale on Saturday, April 8, at Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply in Thayer beginning at 8 a.m.

Each spring women's clubs from across Missouri sponsor the Sophomore Pilgrimage to Jefferson City, Missouri. On April 11, two members of Crescite Club will take two sophomores to this event: Shawna Smith from Couch High School and Gabe Martin from Thayer High School. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how our state government works and more about its history.

Betty Garrison introduced the program speakers, Matthew and Halie Deckard. The Deckards serve as missionaries working with Jungle Kids for Christ (JKC). The mission of JKC is to empower children in the jungle of Ecuador so that they can break the cycle of poverty and abuse and share a message of transformation with their family, community, country and world.
