North Arkansas HomeCare appeared in the 2017 HomeCare Elite, which is a compilation of the most successful home care providers in the Untied States. Now in it’s twelfth year, this market-leading review names the top 25-percent of agencies based on performance measures. This year measures include quality of care, quality of improvement, patient experience, process measure implantation and financial management. The 2017 HomeCare Elite also recognizes the Top 100 and Top 500 of providers nationwide.

North Arkansas HomeCare has two providers out of Calico Rock and Salem. The Salem provider has two branches in Mountain Home and Batesville. According to Farra Rowden, Director of Nursing and an Administrator, “our Salem provider made the HomeCare Elite list and has made this list for 10 consecutive years, which three of were in the top 500. The Calico Rock provider made the HomeCare Elite Top 500 and has made the list for 12 consecutive years, three of those years in the Top 500 and three of those years in the Top 100.”

The ranking is developed by ABILITY® Network, a leading information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare; and sponsored by DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line and the Complete Home Health ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Coding Manual.

HomeCare Elite agencies are determined by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, best practices implementation, patient experience (HHCAHPS), quality improvement and consistency, and financial health. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least three outcomes in Home Health Compare. Out of 9,064 agencies considered, 2,268 are recognized on the 2017 HomeCare Elite winners list overall.

“The team at North Arkansas HomeCare has demonstrated an impressive ability to deliver great patient care,” said Christine Lang, senior director for ABILITY Network. “This is due to the skill and dedication of their clinical professionals, as well as the proficiency and efforts of their quality team tracking, measuring and interpreting the data that supports the delivery of care. Together, they have earned this recognition as one of the top home care agencies in the country.”

Rowden noted the patient comes first, which helps to achieve quality of care. The Calico Rock provider has 22 employees and the Salem provider has 61 employees. Both providers partner with Gross Therapy Services for the company’s therapy needs, and those employees aren’t included in the above count.

“We will continue to keep our focus of care on our patients and keep delivering the highest level of quality care to those who we are blessed to serve. We feel honored to care for the members of our communities. Our goal is to keep patients safe at home for as long as possible.

“Home health is a really neat service to provide to someone. We have a strong hold on patient quality as well. Patient safety is our top priority in general,” Rowden noted.

“We commend our team members at North Arkansas HomeCare for their hard work and dedication in achieving this honor,” said Keith G. Myers, LHC Group chairman and CEO. “Quality patient care is the top priority at all LHC Group locations and providers. We are proud to have 217 locations – more than 70 percent of our home health agencies – earn HomeCare Elite recognition.”
