New ministry to form in the area

Wednesday, July 18, 2018

A benefit concert will be held July 28 at the Hardy Civic Center in order to support Rose’s Faith Based Retreat, a new ministry located on Fire Tower Road in Hardy.

According to Dan Foust, the event will be an all day event of uplifting prayer and worship. He said he welcomes the community to attend and enjoy the day of worship. There is no cost to enter, however; donations are welcome and there will be concessions sold during the event to benefit the ministry.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the music will begin between 10 and 10:30 that morning.

When asked about the ministry, Foust explained he and his wife had unexpectedly lost their daughter Rose, three years ago after which, he said they felt they were being called to minister to others.

“We didn’t know at the time he was going to call us to this area, but I kept having dreams about the mountains,” Foust said. “So, we bought this property and have started to build the retreat.”

Although it is not yet complete, and Foust does not know when the retreat will be open, his team have been able to construct two cabins, a bathhouse, beginnings of an amphitheater and a pool.

“This is a ministry for the youth to help them get on the right path. If they’re fighting addictions, those that are even walking with God, we will accept and those that aren’t quite there yet,” Foust said.
