OzSBI receives donation from Heiney
The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) has been awarded $49,926 in 50 percent tax credits by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Eligible individuals or businesses with a Missouri tax liability are eligible to receive the 2018 tax credits by making a donation to OzSBI. Tax credits directly reduce the donor’s state taxes by 50 percent of the donated amount, which is in addition to the standard state and federal charitable tax deductions.
Ramona Heiney with Ramona Heiney – State Farm utilized tax credits in 2017 to make a $5,000 donation to OzSBI in 2017. “Being a small business owner myself, it is a privilege to be a supporter of OzSBI,” Heiney said. “They offer so many incredible services to help establish, grow and sustain small business in our local area. With the available tax credits, I was able to contribute a substantial amount that was actually a fairly small net cost. The OzSBI tax credits are a great way to support our local small business community and lower ones state tax obligations.”
Funds raised through tax credits enables OzSBI to expand its business incubation services, including offering business development workshops and professional development seminars, hosting Startup Weekends and cultivating a robust business hub.
For this year’s tax credit program, donors could combine a donation for tax credits with a naming opportunity. The second floor has offices and common spaces available for naming for donations of $5,000 up to $12,500. A plaque will be permanently installed next to the designated space, which will leave a lasting legacy in the business community for years to come.
